Rear Strut Removal

1 Set the steering to straight ahead.

2 Safely raise the vehicle according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

3 Remove applicable rear wheel. (Figure 1)

4 Disconnect and unroute the electrical connection. (Figures 2, 3)

5 Disconnect the ride height sensor bracket from the lower control arm. (Figure 4, 5)

6 Remove the lower shock bolt. (Figures 6, 7)

7 Remove lower control arm bolt. (Figure 8, 9)

8 Remove the three (3) shock top mount nuts. (Figures 10, 11)

9 Pull down the lower control arm and the remove strut from the vehicle. (Figure 12)

10 Front strut removal complete.

Rear Strut Installation

Tighten all nuts and bolts to manufacturer’s specifications during the installation process.

1 Insert new Arnott strut into vehicle. (Figure 13)

2 Install top mount nuts loosely to hold shock in place. (Figure 14)

3 Reconnect the lower control arm and install the lower control arm bolt. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figures 15, 16)

4 Position and reinstall the bottom shock mount bolt. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figures 17, 18)

5 Reconnect the ride height sensor bracket to the lower control arm. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figures 19, 20)

6 Finish tightening top mount nuts to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figure 21)

7 Reinstall applicable rear wheel.

8 Lower vehicle.

9 Rear strut installation complete.

Front Strut Removal

1 Ensure the vehicle is properly lifted according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

2 Remove the applicable front wheel. (Figure 22)

3 Disconnect and unroute the electrical connection. (Figures 23, 24)

4 Remove the sway bar end link nut and disconnect. (Figures 25, 26)

5 Remove the two (2) lower shock mount bolts. (Figures 27, 28)

6 Remove the steering rod link nut and disconnect. (Figures 29, 30)

7 Disconnect the upper control arm. (Figures 31, 32)

8 Remove the three (3) top mount nuts. (Figure 33)

8 Remove old strut from the vehicle. (Figure 34)

9 Front strut removal complete.

Front Shock Installation

Tighten all nuts and bolts to manufacturer’s specifications during the installation process.

1 Insert new Arnott strut into the vehicle. (Figure 35)

2 Install the three (3) top mount nuts and tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figure 36)

3 Connect the upper control arm and tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figure 37)

4 Reconnect the steering rod link. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figure 38)

5 Install the two (2) lower shock mount bolts. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figure 39, 40)

6 Reinstall the sway bar end link and nut. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (Figure 41)

7 Reinstall the applicable front wheel.

8 Lower the vehicle.

9 Installation complete.

Electronic Bypass Module (EBM) Installation

1 Remove the lower trim panel from each side of the front center console. Remove the retaining screws. (Figures 42, 43)

2 Move the front seats forward and remove the rear screws on the center console. (Figures 44, 45)

3 Tilt the console forward to gain access to the Vehicle Dynamics Module underneath. (Figures 46, 47)

4 Remove the two harnesses from the VDM. (Figure 48, 49)

5 According to the table below, splice the EBM harness wires to the applicable control module harness wires using the four (4) supplied heat-shrink butt connectors. (Figures 50, 51)

6 Connect the EBM to the EBM harness. (Figure 52)

7 Secure the EBM to a safe location. Do not plug the VDM harnesses back into the VDM.

8 Reinstall the center console and replace the trim.

9 Installation complete.
