ARNOTT NEW FRONT LEFT AIR STRUT

The air suspension system is under pressure (up to 10 bar, or 150 lbf/in). Verify pressure has been relieved and disconnect power to the air suspension system prior to disassembly. Do not allow dirt or grease to enter the system. Always wear standard hand, ear, and eye protection when servicing the air suspension system.

Not to be stored below 5°F (-15°C) or above 122°F (50°C).
Avoid damage to air lines and cables.
Removal and installation is only to be performed by fully qualified personnel.
Use car manufacturer’s diagnostic software.
Damage to the vehicle and air suspension system can be incurred if work is carried out in a manner other than specified
in the instructions or in a different sequence.
To avoid the possibility of short circuits while working with electric components consult your owner's manual on how to
disconnect your battery.
Consult your vehicle owner's manual, service manual, or car dealer for the correct jacking points on your vehicle and for
additional care, safety and maintenance instructions. Under no circumstances should any work be completed underneath
the vehicle if it is not adequately supported, as serious injuries and death can occur.
1. Set steering to straight ahead.
3. Remove the left front wheel.
5. Remove any applicable rubber trim depicted as needed. (FIGURES 1, 2)
6. Remove panel to gain access to the air strut top mount. (FIGURE 3)
7. Disconnect the air line from the strut assembly. (FIGURE 4)
8. Disconnect both damping coil electrical connections. (FIGURE 5)
9. Unroute wires from the strut wire harness bracket. (FIGURE 6)
10. Remove the upper sway arm link nut. (FIGURE 7)
11. Disconnect the steering link from the wheel carrier mount. (FIGURES 8, 9)
12. Remove the bottom strut mount bolt. (FIGURE 10)
13. Disconnect and separate the wheel carrier and upper control arm. (FIGURES 11, 12)
14. Separate the sway arm link from the wheel carrier mount. (FIGURE 13)
15. Disconnect axle at the gearbox enough to help maneuver strut removal. (FIGURE 14)
16. Remove the three (3) top strut mount nuts. (FIGURE 15)
17. Carefully remove the air strut. (FIGURE 16)
Tighten all nuts and bolts to manufacturer's specifications during the installation process.
Do not remove the air fitting from the air strut. Doing so may cause damage and/or void warranty. Remove the white shipping pin from the new air fitting and insert the air line until fully seated.
1. Carefully install the strut into the vehicle. (FIGURE 17)
2. Install the three (3) top strut mount nuts. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (FIGURE 18)
3. Reinstall the axle back into the gearbox. (FIGURE 19)
4. Reconnect the sway arm link at the wheel carrier mount. (FIGURE 20)
5. Reconnect the wheel carrier and upper control arm. Tighten to manufacturer's specifications. (FIGURES 21, 22)
6. Install the bottom nut and bolt and tighten to manufacturer's specifications. (FIGURES 23, 24)
7. Reconnect the steering link to the wheel carrier mount and tighten to manufacturer's specifications. (FIGURES 25, 26)
8. Reinstall sway arm link nut and tighten to manufacturer's specifications. (FIGURE 27)
9. Reconnect and secure strut damping coil wires. (FIGURES 28, 29)
10. Remove the white shipping pin on the new air line fitting. Insert the air line into the new air fitting until the air line is firmly seated within the fitting. (FIGURES 30, 31)
11. Reinstall the panel covering the air strut top mount.
12. Reinstall any additional applicable rubber trim or paneling.
13. Reinstall the left front wheel.
14. Inflate the air system per manufacturer’s specifications.
16. Installation complete.
