ARNOTT REMANUFACTURED REAR RIGHT AIR STRUT
FOR 2014-2020 MERCEDES-BENZ S-CLASS/MAYBACH AMG (W222) W/AIRM, W/OUT ABC, INCLUDING 4MATIC
The air suspension system is under pressure (up to 10 bar, or 150 lbf/in). Verify pressure has been relieved and disconnect power to the air suspension system prior to disassembly. Do not allow dirt or grease to enter the system. Always wear standard hand, ear, and eye protection when servicing the air suspension system.

Not to be stored below 5°F (-15°C) or above 122°F (50°C).
Avoid damage to air lines and cables.
Removal and installation is only to be performed by fully qualified personnel.
Use car manufacturer’s diagnostic software.
Damage to the vehicle and air suspension system can be incurred if work is carried out in a manner other than specified
in the instructions or in a different sequence.
To avoid the possibility of short circuits while working with electric components consult your owner's manual on how to
disconnect your battery.
Consult your vehicle owner's manual, service manual, or car dealer for the correct jacking points on your vehicle and for
additional care, safety and maintenance instructions. Under no circumstances should any work be completed underneath
the vehicle if it is not adequately supported, as serious injuries and death can occur.
2. Remove left rear wheel.
3. Remove cover from control arm. (FIGURE 1)
4. Disconnect ride height sensor arm. (FIGURES 2, 3)
5. Gain access to top nuts and airline by removing rear speaker and foam inserts underneath. Remove the air line. (FIGURES 4, 5)
6. Remove OE air line fitting from the air line and discard. Use the images below as an example.
Prior to inserting the existing air line into the new air strut you will need to remove the old original equipment air line fitting and discard.
SCRATCHES AND/OR DEEP CUTS IN THE AIR LINE CAN RESULT IN POSSIBLE LEAKS. INSPECT THE AIR LINE BEFORE INSERTION. AIR LINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IF DAMAGED.
7. Disconnect both electrical connectors. (FIGURES 6, 7)
8. Remove sway bar linkage. (FIGURES 8, 9, 10)
9. Remove lower strut bolt. (FIGURES 11, 12)
10. Disconnect torsion bar from wheel carrier. (FIGURES 13, 14)
11. Loosen control arm at rear axle carrier. Disconnect control arm at wheel carrier. Swing control arm down. (FIGURES 15, 16, 17)
12. With assistance, remove the three (3) top nuts from the strut and remove from vehicle. (FIGURES 18, 19, 20)
Tighten all nuts and bolts to manufacturer's specifications during the installation process.
1. Remove the shipping plug from the check valve and install the VOSS fitting from the provided accessory kit on to the Arnott air strut. Remove the shipping pin from the VOSS fitting. Use the figures below as an example. (FIGURES 21, 22, 23, 24)
2. Install the Arnott strut onto the vehicle in the same orientation as removed. (FIGURE 25)
3. Install the provided top nuts loosely to retain strut in place. (FIGURE 26)
4. Support control arm by loosely inserting wheel carrier bolt. Install lower shock bolt. Tighten shock bolt to manufacturer’s specifications. (FIGURES 27, 28 ,29)
5. Tighten control arm to wheel carrier bolt. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (FIGURE 30)
6. Connect torsion bar to wheel carrier. (FIGURES 31, 32)
7. Install sway bar linkage. (FIGURES 33, 34, 35)
8. Tighten control arm at axle carrier. (FIGURE 36)
9. Connect the two (2) electrical connections to the strut. (FIGURES 37, 38)
10. Reinstall the ride height sensor in the exact orientation as removed. (FIGURE 39)
11. Install the control arm cover. (FIGURE 40)
12. Tighten the three (3) top nuts. Tighten to manufacturer’s specifications. (FIGURE 41)
13. Connect the air line. Press the line in until it seats in the fitting firmly. Use the figure below as an example.
14. Replace foam inserts and rear speaker above the air strut.
17. Installation complete.
