0 AS-3166 ARNOTT NEW REAR RIGHT AIR STRUT FOR 2011-2018 PORSCHE CAYENNE (92A)

The air suspension system is under pressure (up to 10 bar, or 150 lbf/in). Verify pressure has been relieved and disconnect power to the air suspension system prior to disassembly. Do not allow dirt or grease to enter the system. Always wear standard hand, ear, and eye protection when servicing the air suspension system.

Not to be stored below 5°F (-15°C) or above 122°F (50°C). Avoid damage to air lines and cables. Removal and installation is only to be performed by fully qualified personnel. Use car manufacturer’s diagnostic software.

Damage to the vehicle and air suspension system can be incurred if work is carried out in a manner other than specified in the instructions or in a different sequence.

To avoid the possibility of short circuits while working with electric components consult your owner's manual on how to disconnect your battery.

Consult your vehicle owner's manual, service manual, or car dealer for the correct jacking points on your vehicle and for additional care, safety and maintenance instructions. Under no circumstances should any work be completed underneath the vehicle if it is not adequately supported, as serious injuries and death can occur.

AIR STRUT REMOVAL

1. Open rear cargo hatch and remove applicable side paneling. (FIGURES 1, 2, 3, 4)

2. Per manufacturer’s specifications for the closed loop air system, bleed the right side air spring.

3. Raise the vehicle and remove the rear right wheel. (FIGURE 5)

4. Remove the air line. (FIGURE 6)

5. Disconnect the electrical connection to the strut. (FIGURE 7)

6. Remove the bottom mount bolt. (FIGURES 8, 9)

7. Remove the bottom mount of the strut from the wheel carrier. (FIGURE 10)

8. Remove the four (4) top mount screws. Note the positions of the different length screws for installation. It may be necessary to use a hydraulic jack for assistance. (FIGURES 11, 12, 13, 14)

9. Remove the strut from the vehicle. (FIGURES 15, 16)

10. Removal complete.

AIR STRUT INSTALLATION

Tighten all nuts and bolts to manufacturer's specifications during the installation process.

1. Prepare the new strut by removing the shipping plug from the check valve. (FIGURE 17)

2. Raise the new strut into position to install on vehicle. (FIGURE 18)

3. Use a hydraulic jack or stand for assistance in inserting the lower mount bolt. (FIGURES 19, 20)

4. Install the four (4) top mount screws and tighten until lightly snug. (FIGURES 21, 22)

5. Tighten the lower mount bolt to manufacturer’s specifications. (FIGURE 23)

6. Refer to the provided air line TSB for the air line installation process.

7. Connect the electrical connection to the new air strut. (FIGURE 24)

8. Inflate the vehicle air spring per manufacturer’s specifications, following the procedures for charging the closed loop air system.

9. Reinstall the wheel.

10. Lower the vehicle to access the top mount screws and tighten them to manufacturer’s specifications.

11. Lower the vehicle completely.

12. Reinstall the rear cargo paneling.

13. Installation complete.
