Proper installation is essential to experience and appreciate the benefits of this system. Please take a moment to review these installation instructions before you begin to install these components on your vehicle. The removal and installation of air suspension products should only be performed by a fully qualified, ASE Certified, professional.

It is equally important to be aware of all necessary safety measures while installing your new Air Suspension System. This includes proper lifting and immobilizing of the vehicle and isolation of any stored energy to prevent personal injury or property damage.

SK-2460 Arnott Remanufactured Rear Right ABC Strut

WARNING: The air suspension system is under pressure (up to 10 bar, or 150 lbf/in). Verify pressure has been relieved and disconnect power to the air suspension system prior to disassembly. Do not allow dirt or grease to enter the system. Always wear standard hand, ear, and eye protection when servicing the air suspension system.

Not to be stored below 5°F (-15°C) or above 122°F (50°C).

Avoid damage to air lines and cables.

Removal and installation is only to be performed by fully qualified personnel.

Use car manufacturer’s diagnostic software.

CAUTION: Damage to the vehicle and air suspension system can be incurred if work is carried out in a manner other than specified in the instructions or in a different sequence.

WARNING: To avoid the possibility of short circuits while working with electric components consult your owner's manual on how to disconnect your battery.

WARNING: Consult your vehicle owner's manual, service manual, or car dealer for the correct jacking points on your vehicle and for additional care, safety and maintenance instructions. Under no circumstances should any work be completed underneath the vehicle if it is not adequately supported, as serious injuries and death can occur.

ABC STRUT REMOVAL

1. Remove the strut cover located on the rear deck.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the three (3) nuts on the top of the strut. (FIGURE A)

3. Set steering to straight ahead.

4. Raise vehicle.

5. Remove rear wheel.

6. Bleed off hydraulic pressure. Open bleed screw carefully so that the hydraulic fluid can drain out slowly to prevent the strut from collapsing too rapidly. (FIGURE B)

7. Disconnect the hydraulic line quick-release coupling from the strut (ensure that no dirt enters the opened quick-release fitting). (FIGURE C, D)

8. Remove two (2) bolts on the backside of the caliper. (FIGURE E)

9. Remove the retaining clip. (FIGURE F)

10. Remove the brake pad sensor bracket (passenger side only). (FIGURE G, H)

11. Secure the caliper. (FIGURE I)

12. Remove the nut to disconnect the travel sensor. (FIGURE J, K)

13. Disassemble the outer suspension arm. (FIGURE L)

14. Remove the bolt and nut connecting the strut assembly to the lower suspension arm. (FIGURE M)

15. Loosen the lower control arm bolt slightly, do not remove (this will allow the lower control arm to swing down). (FIGURE N)

16. Remove strut assembly from car.

17. Strut removal complete.

ABC STRUT INSTALLATION

WARNING: Tighten all nuts and bolts to manufacturer's specifications during the installation process.

WARNING: Please refer to your vehicle manufacturer's service manual for re-pressurizing the ABC® hydraulic suspension system.

WARNING: Work is to be performed by a factory trained mechanic; failure to do so may cause damge to the vehicle. Diagnostic software is required to re-pressurize the hydraulic system after strut installation.

1. Installation is in reverse order of ABC strut removal.
